What are the most common disorders we face as dentists? Infection, tissue response to toxic materials and poor function (breathing and TMJ). The etiology of poor gut function, caries, infected teeth, infected bone, ischemic bone disease, hypoxia, and TM joint compression is discussed. Case studies and published literature are highlighted to help understand the “why” of what we are doing, and how we can intervene to prevent oral and systemic disease.
